🇺🇸 100+ US Climate VCs to Know

PLUS: Meet the New Yorker putting plant-based on the menu in NYC’s iconic Bodegas and at the HackSummit

The US emerged as the top climate-tech financing market in 2024, channeling $6.7 billion in the first six months of this year alone.

As we enter the final stretch of 2024, this momentum is set to continue with a combination of grants, seed capital, growth funding, and infrastructure finance all set to make its way towards climate technologies.

Just this month :

  • US-based KoBold Metals secured $491 million to help find critical minerals for the energy transition.

  • New York based Also Capital announced the close of their $21M fund to invest into the next generation of exceptional hard tech founders.

  • The US Department of Energy awarded $428 million in grants to boost clean energy to companies like Anthro Energy, Furno and more.

Meanwhile Climate Tech’s high costs and longer timelines, means there are significant challenges to overcome on the pathway to scale up FOAK innovation, decarbonization technologies, green manufacturing and regenerative solutions.

To play a small part to address the gaps in the climate capital stack, we built a list of 100+ Climate VCs (scroll down for the full list).

And we’re putting Climate Financing high on the HackSummit agenda this December 12-13th in Brooklyn, with some of the most active early-stage US Climate Tech Funds joining us in the room.

🗽 Meet the New Yorker putting Plant Based on Bodegas’ (and the HackSummit) Menu

Nil Zacharias, Founder and CEO of Plantega, has dedicated the past decade to promoting plant-forward eating. While the plant-based food sector gained momentum in 2020, today’s landscape presents challenges including accessibility and affordability.

That’s why Nil launched plant-based menus in New York’s bodegas, which play a vital role in local food culture. Plantega’s classic deli favorites are made with plant-based ingredients with a turnkey solution for in-store and app deliveries.

Now they’re scaling up with new distribution opportunities and catering initiatives to accelerate access to sustainable food options.

Next up, they’ll be serving delicious plant-based deli sandwiches at the HackSummit with brand partners KARANA, Stockeld Dreamery, Fabalish, ABBOT’S and Daring to showcase well-loved flavors and new combinations. Yes, it’s included in your Summit Pass.

  • In article - same edit to list of brand partner - ABBOT’S vs. ABBOT’s (in what’s on the menu section) — along with remove “High” in the menu description - should just say “made with ABBOT’S Protein Veggie Burger”
